Where do I start this journey with you?

Maybe introducing myself would be a good start right? If you haven't looked at the "about me" page, this is a little introduction of who this crazy person really is...

Well that's me, Jana Wittevrongel, a twenty-one (almost getting twenty-two in February 2022) college student. Who has been passionate about writing and reading from a young age. I've started my writing journey a bit later though, and finished my first draft of a first book at late high school. Since then I'm practising a lot and started to think about writing longer series. When I'm not typing and or reading, I like to spend my time singing under the shower, going to the horses and spending time with animals in general, photography and going out with friends.

I hope this will be a way to hold myself accountable to really work on the project I'm going to introduce next, so be prepared, it's going to be a long one...

When you clicked on this site, you are probably coming from the app Wattpad. Where writers can publish their own stories. It’s a place where readers and writers are coming together to share their love for stories. That’s where this story started too, and how my love for once series in particularly has brought my own head turning and twisting. It’s non other then…

The Black diamond series of @Snape75

If you haven’t heard of it at all… Shame on you! It’s one of the best BDSM related series I have ever read on a community app like Wattpad is. Maybe it’s even one of the best series I have read period. She has given life to such interesting and complex characters that I am in awe with. So if you haven’t read them, I highly recommend it!

As one of her loyal readers, and knowing who the ’secret’ Sub will be

Hint; it’s someone we all know! And did you now really think I would spoil it…

No, I’m not that fun of a person!

Now on to my journey

After I had found out, I started to think about possibilities of another character inside the universe. Someone who everyone seems to love or hate inside the series, and he was such an interesting character that I started to wonder, what’s your backstory...

And you have already guessed it, I started to create my own backstories and possible outcomes of what it could lead to.

I have the pleasure to speak with the author Nath on a very regular basis, and I see her already as a second mother of sorts. Which can be true honestly since she has her own son’s in my age range…

And I started to rant to her about all the possible backstories I had come up with…

She was intrigued by all of it, but had her own doubts since the spin off-series which she had approved of, never happened or the authors aren’t writing anymore.

Yes I am talking about you Fhanth, wherever you may be.

And no shame on the people behind the screens, like I get you. Writing is hard and time consuming…

But still more plotlines and characters were forming inside my head, and I started to tell her more and more about these people. You guessed it right, she approved of my idea!

We’re writing another Spin-off for this series…

Well that was the end of 2019…

I started writing with a whole lot of enthusiasm and got a lot of words in right away… And then 2020 came, the pandemic came, Nath disappeared for almost a whole year, and I started procrastinating…

I never stopped writing really, but words were hard and motivation was lost...

I stopped at a word count of 75K until…

Summer 2021

I was still thinking about the whole series, and the files were waiting for me to come and visit them. And then there she was again, Nath on Wattpad. She was still not writing but she was back, and I thought this is my time again. So I started from the beginning (as I thought rewriting the first few chapters was going to move me forward) and started writing again. Things were moving fast, and in a few weeks I had the word count up till around 90-95K.

September-Ocotber 2021

That were again days that I started procrastinating again. I didn’t write any words, things were moving slow… I thought I had lost the motivation again but there she was yet again, my saving grace. Nath started uploading Aaron’s book again, and I started feeling the urge to get this shit going. I started writing yet again, but now instead of starting from the start again. I just started writing where I left off the first time. And let me say things were hard, words werenā€˜t flowing as well I had hoped, scenes were strung together but almost barely… It wasn’t pretty but the words were there so it was progress…

We slowly got further into the draft until I hit my turning point…

29 October 2021

This was the day, I hate 100K in my document. The first real mile stone I had crossed and I couldn’t be more proud of it. I started to feel more connected with the story and characters again...

This was the day I decided to take part in Nanowrimo this year, but that’ll be for another post..

Well I think that concludes most of the reasoning behind this story. And as Iā€˜m drafting and getting to know my characters a bit more, I want to take you along with me in this journey. Question time! Are you a writer yourself? If yes, I would love to know your stories and your journey better, you can always leave a comment behind and I’ll try to respond! If you are a reader of Nath’s books. Are you excited for the last few books of Aaron? And what do you think about a possible new spin off that I’m trying to write? Let’s chat about it, I would love to get you know all a bit better!

But thatā€˜ll be all for this! I hope to see you all in the next post!
